Chesterfield firefighters rescue dog from burning home

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Three people are without a home, after a fire broke out in Chesterfield County early Thursday morning.

The fire started in the attic of a home on Ridgerun Terrace around 12:53 a.m. Firefighters put the blaze out in about 20 minutes.

Everyone inside the home made it out safely, including the family’s dog. Firefighters had to go inside the burning home to rescue the animal. 

Fire officials tell 8News the family will no longer be able to stay at the home.
